Interactive stress ball
Over two months I was part of a team of five students to create an interactive stress ball. StressLess is a working prototype which innovates on the standard stress ball by incorporating pressure sensors and connectivity.
A range of metrics are collected as a user interacts with the ball, and these can be utilised in a variety of ways through our API. Examples we envisioned include responding to the data by playing relaxing music, or controlling ambient lighting. This video demonstrates a colour-changing visualisation developed for a pilot experiment, which fades and slows at a frequency slightly below the user's own squeezing rate, encouraging them to reduce it.
